P\u016boro podcast where we k\u014drero and w\u0101nanga about taonga puoro with some of the foremost practitioners in the crafting and performance of traditional M\u0101ori musical instruments.<\/p><p>We launched our first official episode on this evening of Wednesday 29 June 2022 from here at Te Papa, in conjunction with the Te Ara Haumanu Concert.<\/p><p>In this episode we have the pleasure of listening to the wonderful Dr Aroha Yates-Smith as she reminisces about her experience with Taonga P\u016boro artists, in amongst stories of special memories, life accomplishments Haumanu has grown from these initiatives. There has been a revival of this craft over the last 30-40 years, led by the late Hirini Melbourne, Richard Nunns, Brian Flintoff and Ringinui Keefe, Joe Malcolm, Clem Mellish, Rangiiria Hedley, Aroha Yates Smith, and Hinewirangi Kohu Morgan, Ross and Bruce Gregory, Te Miringa Hohaia and others.  Haumanu has grown from these initiatives.
