Due to historical events there was a decline in the use and cultural practice of the instrumental traditions within M\u0101ori culture and with the knowledge base connected to it.  There has been a revival of this craft over the last 30-40 years, led by the late Hirini Melbourne, Richard Nunns, Brian Flintoff and Ringinui Keefe, Joe Malcolm, Clem Mellish, Rangiiria Hedley, Aroha Yates Smith, and Hinewirangi Kohu Morgan, Ross and Bruce Gregory, Te Miringa Hohaia and others.  Haumanu has grown from these initiatives.  The group is dedicated to the revival, teaching, and sharing of these taonga.","publisher":{"@id":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/#organization"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":{"@type":"EntryPoint","urlTemplate":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/?s={search_term_string}"},"query-input":{"@type":"PropertyValueSpecification","valueRequired":true,"valueName":"search_term_string"}}],"inLanguage":"mao"},{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/#organization","name":"Haumanu Collective","url":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"mao","@id":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/","url":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/haumanu-tohu-vari3.jpg","contentUrl":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/haumanu-tohu-vari3.jpg","width":900,"height":436,"caption":"Haumanu Collective"},"image":{"@id":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/"},"sameAs":["https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/haumanucollective","https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/haumanucollective\/"]},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/#\/schema\/person\/0f117d2e231571dae1f0569de5e72305","name":"Haumanu","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"mao","@id":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/005e222cee3b173baa4464ab1aefba1e4d2b194ddec8c7f24a9a3f40e53f6e40?s=96&d=mm&r=g","url":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/005e222cee3b173baa4464ab1aefba1e4d2b194ddec8c7f24a9a3f40e53f6e40?s=96&d=mm&r=g","contentUrl":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/005e222cee3b173baa4464ab1aefba1e4d2b194ddec8c7f24a9a3f40e53f6e40?s=96&d=mm&r=g","caption":"Haumanu"},"sameAs":["https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/new","https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/haumanucollective","https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/haumanucollective\/","https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UClay7uiQVyx85C61L6CFffg"],"url":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/author\/webmasterbrendon\/"}]}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1289","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1289"}],"version-history":[{"count":37,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1289\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1521,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1289\/revisions\/1521"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1241"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1289"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1289"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.haumanucollective.com\/mao\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1289"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
