And I really wanted to look at how a M\u0101ori living in the world today is using our ancient practices of taonga puoro and how his journey is going in the contemporary world.&#8221;<\/p><p>She says there are many topics weaved into the film with health being one of the key themes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b5a879 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1b5a879\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Komako wants rangatahi to embrace puoro as much as kapa haka.<\/p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m interested in our ceremonial practises outside of just p\u014dwhiri and kapa haka, more interested in some of these other ceremonies that aren&#8217;t highlighted as much in our M\u0101ori culture and that being the practise of puoro.&#8221;<\/p><p>She says there&#8217;s a need for the voice of indigenous women to be heard.<\/p><p>&#8220;I really want to encourage more wahine native sisters around the world to share their stories through film or theatre and just needing more wahine perspective out there but particularly indigenous wahine perspective and media being such a powerful tool so I thought this is a good way to share my voice with the world.&#8221;<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Libby Gray explores the spiritual practices of Komako Silver, Ng\u0101ti Pakahi, Ng\u0101 Puhi and her unique approach to her Taonga P\u016boro practice. Haumanu has grown from these initiatives.
