Outside of this environment, he has also frequented Te K\u014dk\u012b, The New Zealand School Of Music, as a guest lecturer in Ethnomusicology studies and as a teacher of performance, particularly within Haka, moteatea and Taonga Puoro.<\/p><p>T\u0101mihana\u2019s passion for Tikanga and Te Reo have lead him to the composition of karakia and moteatea, specifically used to encapsulate and retain the knowledge pertaining to Taonga Puoro. There has been a revival of this craft over the last 30-40 years, led by the late Hirini Melbourne, Richard Nunns, Brian Flintoff and Ringinui Keefe, Joe Malcolm, Clem Mellish, Rangiiria Hedley, Aroha Yates Smith, and Hinewirangi Kohu Morgan, Ross and Bruce Gregory, Te Miringa Hohaia and others.  Haumanu has grown from these initiatives.
